To add a touch of color and cuteness to our Letter Love Board

” Happy Everything” subscription box from Eclectic Box Goods included a wool felt flower

found in our “Happy Everything” Box #2 of Eclectic Box Goods subscription box, we decided to create our own wool flower embellishment.  We searched online and watched a bunch of tutorials about making wool felt flowers.  And decided this simple video “How To Make A Felt Flower” by Deleâ Lopes taught us the tricks we needed to make the rose flower.

We picked out some wool felt,

Happy Everything and the Young Entrepreneur Edition–Eclectic Box Number Two Delights Subscribers

January Box

Our second subscription box, is themed “Happy Everything” and is filled with goods designed and created by young makers and entrepreneurs. We love supporting makers and really love to support young makers and entrepreneurs. We hope these goods make you smile!  The main featured item in the box is a fun-sized 10″ x 10″ letter board from Letter Love Goods.

Letter Love Goods was founded by college students Jase and Bri Warner.  “We love providing a quality board that people can write messages, quotes and greetings on,” said Bri. “Our 10″x 10″ size fits nearly everywhere, and there are 300 letters included, so really you can write any message on it.” letters

Other sizes of boards and additional colors of letters are available at their website letterlovegoods.com and will be available in our Makers Marketplace.  “We donate a portion of our company’s profits to help out the people of Nepal” says Bri.  “We made a trip their recently, and saw a great need.  We are heading back to Nepal this year and are going to help build a library.” We love these young entrepreneurs doing great things.  Eclectic Box Goods contributes every month to a cause and we will be making a donation to help fund the library build in Nepal.

We also included in our “Happy Everything” box, the 3-D printed word “Happy” for the letter board. We thought that many messages you would want put on a letter board would start with the word “happy”… like: “Happy Birthday”, “Happy Anniversary”, Happy Graduation”, “Happy Baby”, “Happy New Year”, Happy Weekend”, etc.

The 3-d “Happy” word as well as the banner hooks, present shape, snowflake image and olive branch swag were designed and created for us by two young entrepreneur sisters, Rilee Larson and Ansley Sitton.  3d printerThe sisters, with the help of their dad, Sean Warner, bought two 3-D printers and have them running almost 24-hours a day fulfilling orders.3d images on pegboard

Their company, LetterBoard Designs, sells assorted images and image packages to compliment the words on a letter board.  “We have individual images or images packages with themes like baby showers, birthday parties, all the holidays and seasons, said Rilee”.

“We can make custom images from basically any line drawing,” said Ansley.  “We just finished creating a custom image of a bulldog for one of our customers.” Check out their website letterboarddesigns.com.

To make your letter board even “happier” we included 4 different ribbon garland to hang on the board.  They were made by college student, Abby Birrell.  Abby  was exposed to endless creative possibilities as a young child, because her mother owned a craft store.  “I have always had a love of ribbon, ribbon garland and no matter what store I went to, I would migrate to the ribbon section to look at all the colors and patterns available.”

Abby studies web design in college and enjoys DIY projects and is a fan of Pinterest. “The first ribbon garland was one I made for my room, to drape in a corner to add color.  I make garland for birthday parties and baby showers.  I love creating each one of them and watching them come to life.”

In every box we include a frame able art print and a button.  Graphic designer, Jessica happy everything buttonWinters created both of these for us.  Although, Jessica Image-1works full-time as a marketing manager, she finds time to do design work, photography, writing, cross-stitching, let’s just say she is one creative & talented gal.  She presented several designs for us to pick from and we decided to include two of them in your box.  One we used for the print and another for the button. We loved the colorful original design she made specifically for us. To reach out to her for any custom work, please email her at jessicagwinters@gmail.com.

And while Sarah and I are not necessarily considered to be in the “young” category of entrepreneurs we often have “the need to create” too! And wanted to contribute to this month’s Happy Everything box.  We made a cute wool felt flower and fabric banner for the letter board. And we even madewool rose a quick tutorial for the teeny tiny fabric banner.  Sarah also handcrafted some festive and “Happy” earrings for the box. Hoping you have a “Happy Everything” in 2018!

Mixed Media Artist, Jenny Baio, creates art for Eclectic Box Gods

In every subscription box we send out, we include an original piece of artwork from a maker.  We ask an artist to create a piece that goes with our theme.  We were thrilled when mixed media artist, Jenny Baio, agreed to create our Welcome Cactus Art

that will go in every new subscriber’s box.

As a self describer, crayon hoarder, Jenny was thrilled this Christmas when her daughter gave her a 25-year old unopened box of commemorative Crayola Crayons.

Of course, she said, I opened it right away and only one crayon was damaged.

Jenny paints, draws, sketches, colors, sews, embroiders and so much more. (And it is not everyone who can rock green gummy bear earrings, like Jenny does!)

At her full time job at a software company, in Chandler Arizona, she finds time to create welcoming seasonal and themed art to be enjoyed by all who

enter the building. She often creates this art without a  “budget”– using ordinary office supplies, tape, glue and repurposed or recycled goods like this “Radiate Gratitude” piece (made with recycled boxes) she created with a co-worker.

We love following her on instagram
