In every subscription box we send out, we include an original piece of artwork from a maker.  We ask an artist to create a piece that goes with our theme.  We were thrilled when mixed media artist, Jenny Baio, agreed to create our Welcome Cactus Art

that will go in every new subscriber’s box.

As a self describer, crayon hoarder, Jenny was thrilled this Christmas when her daughter gave her a 25-year old unopened box of commemorative Crayola Crayons.

Of course, she said, I opened it right away and only one crayon was damaged.

Jenny paints, draws, sketches, colors, sews, embroiders and so much more. (And it is not everyone who can rock green gummy bear earrings, like Jenny does!)

At her full time job at a software company, in Chandler Arizona, she finds time to create welcoming seasonal and themed art to be enjoyed by all who

enter the building. She often creates this art without a  “budget”– using ordinary office supplies, tape, glue and repurposed or recycled goods like this “Radiate Gratitude” piece (made with recycled boxes) she created with a co-worker.

We love following her on instagram

dreaming of Christmas

Remember as a kid when you just couldn’t sit still because your mind would not stop thinking about Christmas and what longed-for gifts would be left under the Christmas tree? That’s how we have felt the past several weeks leading up to us shipping Eclectic Box 1— “There is no Place Like Home.” We have waited for this moment to tell and show you about our first subscription box and now we can finally share it with you since Christmas has passed and all the boxes have been shipped, received and opened. Its time for the big reveal for all those who didn’t get in on the action in December.

Our December Box was filled with nine dreamy items that we know brightened the life and home of our customers.

Theres No Place Like Home #1

We found all of our items for our December Box, “There is no place Like Home,” from local artisans and makers located in the state of Kansas. The Kansas state slogan is “as big as you think” and the makers that we highlighted in our December Box embody that slogan.

beeBee Button –   We included a button with our Bee representing our “mission and values” and this Holiday season we hope it reminds you to “Bee Generous,”  We are donating part of our profits this month to two charities that two of our featured makers, Charity Fontaine and Lisa Williams respectively, are supporting: Village of Hope, a charity helping people in Africa and, a company interesting in solving the problems and issues surrounding the declining number of bees throughout the world.

We are so excited for 2018 and our first Eclectic Box of the new year. Our theme to start the new year is “Happy Everything” and will include 2-10 eclectic and unique designs and handmade goods from local artisans plus a frameable art print and a button.
